Paper Airplanes

There’s something about having 2 young boys that keeps the boy alive in you.

A little while ago I decided it was time that Howard (almost 3 at the time) and I built a paper airplane. I wasn’t happy with the same old paper airplanes that I used to build as a kid, so I did what most of us do now-a-days: Googled “best paper airplane.” You can see the picture above of what came of that – and it was awesome. For instructions on how to build it, look here (video), and here (website).

As my boys continue to grow older, I find that I have to make a clear distinction of what is ‘childish’ and what is just being a ‘boy.’ I want my boys to grow up into true men of character, and like me, be OK with enjoying things that ‘boys’ do… play in the mud, get dirty, experiment, build things, fly paper airplanes… you get the picture.

Having boys has helped bring the boy out of me more and more, and I love it. It has also helped get rid of some of the childish things that were true of me before having children. Details of that are a blog post for another time.

What’s the best paper airplane you’ve built? Maybe try this one out and tell me what you think!
